It's baaaaaccccckkkkkkk!

It's baaaaaaacccccckkkkkkkkkkk!  It's once again Boozemas! And for the first night I started thinking about some of my favorite flavors and what immediately popped into my head was pineapple upside down cake.  I remember the first time I had it.  It was some boyscouting event I was being forced to attend due to my brother's involvement in scouts.  Let me just tell you right now that noting is more boring than attending anything that has is strictly for your sibling.  Nothing.  Regardless! At this particular event someone brought a magical desert known as pineapple upside down cake.  I'd never had anything so wonderful! So delicious! So unbelievable.  So what better way to fondly reflect on childhood memories? Somehow work booze into it.

Thus the Pineapple Upside Down Cake is born:
1 Shot Pinnacle Cake Flavored Vodka
4 oz Pineapple Juice
Splash Grenadine
Whipped Cream
Cherries

Cheers!

It's beginning to look a lot less like Christmas

Well, Sunday was the day we took down the Christmas decorations. Always a day of mixed emotions, sad because the house looks empty happy because the house looks clean and fresh.  Regardless! What better way to celebrate such a day than to be drinking Mimosa!  This one was premixed blood orange concoction that we got at World Market.  Upon my first sip I thought... it reminds me of something... so I reached way back into my memory banks and came up with........ Mad Dog 20/20.  I haven't thought about Mad Dog 20/20 in 10 years. Yuck. There is a reason you only drink Mad Dog when you have about fifty cents to your name... it's terrible! Do they even sell it any more?  Eric thought it was more like Boone's Farm.  Another one you aren't probably going to be reaching for any time soon.  If you're over 25 that is.....  Either way, it wasn't good.  Do yourselves a favor and stick to fresh OJ with sparkling wines that cost more than $10.

Of course, none of this means we didn't polish off the whole bottle.  Those decorations weren't taking themselves down!

Cheers!

9th day of Boozemas

"On the 9th day of Boozemas my true love gave to me, 9 angry birds!"

One of them even made it into the picture. He's angry he can't drink some of this delicious concoction, which I'm going to call a Chocolate Orange. Nothing says Christmas like a chocolate orange in your stocking and here we have it in a cup. 1 oz of Grand Marnier and 4 oz of hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and some orange zest for color. This would be an amazing thing to have to have after a day of sledding or building snowmen, but since we have no sign of snow here in Seattle we enjoyed it after a long day at work.

Cheers!

8th day of Boozemas

"On the 8th day of Boozemas my true love gave to me, 8 slices of pizza"

Of which, he ate at least four. And come to think of it, I went to get the pizza.... Who cares! It was Monday Night Football night so we enjoyed a few beers and some pizza. For this night we choose purely based on animals in the logo and ended up with the Frog Ale , the 10 Below and the Raven Mad. All great beers to watch the game on a cold winter's night!

Cheers!
